Kelsey AnneseGENESEO, NY – Police say that the bodies of three people found dead in an off-campus house near SUNY Geneseo were the victims of a probable murder-suicide.

Police went to the home after a worried father called 911 to report his son had called and claimed to have killed his girlfriend and was going to kill himself.

Inside the home police would find the bodies of two SUNY students – Kelsey Annese, 21, a member of the women’s basketball team, and Matthew Hutchinson, 24, a player on the men’s hockey team – as wella s the body of a former student, 24-year-old Colin Kingston.

An official cause of death has not been revealed, but police say a firearm was not involved and that a knife was found at the scene. Geneseo Police Public Information Officer Jeffrey Szczesniak said it’s too early to rule the deaths as a murder-suicide but they “believe the perpetrator is one of the deceased.”

I am totally speculating here, but with the info that has been released through various news reports, you can kind of figure out what happened. The 911 call came in the early morning and was made from the home where Annese lived. Two of the bodies were found in a bedroom and Annese’s Facebook page has a couple pictures of her and Kingston together.

“We have experienced a terrible tragedy in Geneseo today involving members of our community,” SUNY Geneseo President Denise A. Battles said in a statement. “The loss of Kelsey, Matthew, and Colin has profoundly affected our campus community. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all involved.”
