BROKEN ARROW, OK – Not a lot of details on this one yet but police found five people dead in an Oklahoma residence, along with a teenage girl being treated for stab wounds, and have placed two teenage relatives in custody.
According to Broken Arrow police Sgt. Thomas Cooper, officers responded to the home around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a 911 hangup call. Once inside the home they would find five people dead, both adults and juveniles, from stab wounds.
They would also find a 12- or 13-year-old girl suffering from multiple stab wounds, but still alive. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Another juvenile was found in the home unharmed and is currently in state custody.
When police first entered the home, two teenagers – ages 16 and 18 – were seen running out the back door. Police would use a K9 unit to locate them on a trail behind the home and take them into custody.
Cooper said that the two teens and the victims were all related and lived in the home, and that the case is being considered a homicide investigation. He also described the scene as “gruesome” and not common for the community.
“The crime scene has taken a pretty heavy toll on officers who have come out here,” said Cooper. “It hits close to home, especially when the victims are adults and juveniles. Our officers have a lot to take in.”
