MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX – John Dee Weter has been arrested after police say the 31-year-old used a machete to viciously murder his girlfriend in front of her two young daughters.
According to reports, Weter got into an argument with his girlfriend, 33-year-old Michelle Becker, because she wanted to go to the grocery store but he wanted to go out. This verbal argument turned physical when Weter began stabbing Becker with anything he had at his disposal, including a machete.
Becker’s two daughters – ages 7 and 8 – ran from the trailer screaming for help as Weter drove away from the scene. Neighbor Meagan Klingbell ran to the girls and found Becker bleeding profusely in the front yard.
“She had lacerations everywhere. he stabbed her with a screwdriver, a wrench and something else,” said Klingbeil. “I tried to stop the bleeding.”
Paramedics arrived on the scene but despite their best efforts, Becker was pronounced dead at Kingwood Hospital. Police would find Deter at a nearby grocery store (!) where he would be taken into custody without incident. Now he has a murder charge he can add to his criminal history involving drugs, drunk driving and theft.
Becker’s daughters were first sent to Child Protective Services, where they talked to counselors, before being placed in the custody of their biological father.
