WEST HARTFORD, CT – Police have arrested 57-year-old Gloria Drummer after she stabbed a random woman in the head with a butcher knife outside a CVS.
According to reports, Drummer had been inside the CVS looking for cigarettes and mumbling to herself. After leaving the store, she waited outside for the 27-year-old victim to walk out and then plunged a 8 to 10-inch butcher knife in the victim’s head.
“You lucky I didn’t scalp you,” Drummer allegedly told the woman after she fell to the ground.
The victim was assisted by her boyfriend and CVS employees before being taken to the hospital. She was later released after three staples were used to close a one-inch stab wound on the top of her head that went into her skull.
After stabbing the victim, Drummer walked across to a bus stop across the street and was still waiting when police arrived. “She was rambling on and said ‘Just take me to jail, take me to jail for what I did,'” West Hartford Police Lt. Ted Stoneburner said.
She was taken to the UConn Health Center for evaluation after making suicidal statements to officers. She was later charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace, and is now in jail on a $1000,000 bond.
No motive has been given for the attack, but I’m guessing whatever the reason, it only made sense to Drummer. I mean, I hate judging books by their covers, but I’m pretty sure Drummer’s cheese slid off her cracker a long, long time ago.
