NEW ORLEANS, LA – Police say 32-year-old Ronald Pritchett became so enraged at his parents for not getting him some fast food, that he killed his father and stabbed his mother.
It happened on Wednesday after Fortunato and Renitta Pritchett ordered food from a fast food restaurant and failed to get any for their son.
According to relatives, when Pritchett realized his parents had not ordered him any food, he grabbed a knife and went to confront them in their bedroom.
They had locked their bedroom door, but Pritchett kicked it in and began stabbing them both multiple times. After he was done, Pritchett stole his parents SUV and fled back to his home in Mississippi.
Pritchett’s father was found in his bedroom suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest and would later die at the hospital. Pritchett’s mother would suffer mostly superficial stab wounds and is expected to recover survive.
When police in Mississippi paid Pritchett a visit at his home early the next morning, he refused to come out of his house. Police used a K-9 unit to motivate him, and he was eventually placed in the Lamar County Jail after being treated for dog bites.
Ronald Pritchett is expected to be extradited back to Louisiana on Monday to face charges of second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and auto theft.
“Don’t nobody expect this type of thing to happen to their family,” said the oldest son Percival Pritchett, Jr. “When somebody takes your daddy’s life, completely short, from the way it’s supposed to be, then you’re not prepared for that.”
