DETROIT, MI – Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy after they say he stabbed his older brother to death after arguing over a soft drink and a bag of chips.
The stabbing reportedly happened Monday night when the teen got into an argument with his 18-year-old brother over who would get some carbonated fruit punch and some chips.
The teen is currently being held in a juvenile detention facility while the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office decides on criminal charges. Prosecutors have five days to bring charges and determine whether to charge the teen as a juvenile or as an adult.
Back in 2013 we reported on a 13-year-old girl who stabbed a classmate in the back with a pocket knife, allegedly because the boy had stolen a bag of chips from her while in the school’s playground.
Also in the “stabbed over chips” news is the North Carolina man who has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill after he allegedly stabbed a woman over a $1.49 bag of Jalapeno Cheetos.
