MIDLOTHIAN, TX – A newly released document reveals some of the injures suffered by 45-year-old Terri “Missy” Leann Bevers, the woman who was found murdered inside a Texas church.

I wanted to get something written up about this murder when it happened, but as is evident by my lack of output the last couple of weeks, I could never get around to it.

Today I decided to see if anyone was arrested for the crime, especially since they had the alleged killer on camera. I was surprised to find out that no arrests have been made. However, some new details were revealed in a search warrant that described the injuries Bevers suffered.

But before I get to that, here’s a quick recap of events.

On April 18th at around 5 a.m., Bevers was found dead inside Creekside Church of Christ. She had shown up to the church in order to teach a Camp Gladiator workout class and her body was discovered by one of her students. Responding police and medical personnel noted that several of the church doors had been damaged and there were broken windows throughout the interior of the church.

A quick search of the church’s multiple surveillance cameras revealed the person behind the vandalism – and the suspect in Bevers’ murder. Shortly before Bevers arrived at the church that morning, a man or woman dressed in pseudo-police gear could be seen nonchalantly roaming the halls using a hammer on various doors and windows within the church, and going into various offices.

The last image of the person shows them walking in the direction Bevers entered the church to teach her class. The suspect is never seen in the video again. Police released a couple snippets of the surveillance footage in hopes that someone would recognized the peculiar gait of the suspect — a gait that has some believing the suspect is a female.

Bevers’ cause of death has not been released at this time, but a recently released search warrant does reveal some of her injuries. According to the document, Bevers “had multiple puncture wounds found on her head and chest” that “are consistent with tools the suspect was carrying throughout the building.”

Bevers’ father-in-law, Randy Bevers, was questioned by police after a dry cleaner informed police he’d dropped off a bloody shirt. Bevers told them it was blood from a dog that had gotten into a fight with another dog — a claim backed up by the veterinarian that treated the dog.

Randy Bevers spoke with the press at length explaining the situation, calling it a non-issue, and stating he understood why he was asked to come in and talk to police. He went on to assure everyone that the blood the police were testing will prove to be canine and that he and his family were satisfied police are doing everything they could to find Bevers’ killer.

Missy’s husband, Brandon Bevers, also had a lot to say about the armchair detectives who are having a field day with his wife’s murder. The interview is pretty interesting and worth watching in its entirety.

Personally, I am with others who do not believe Bevers walked in on a robbery in progress. I will be surprised if it turns out the suspect wasn’t there specifically to harm her. This could be a stretch, but if police do have any suspects they are not talking about, I would have them check to see if any of them have rented or watched the film Rampage recently.
